Funding Fun: Palm Coast's Food Truck Fiesta Fuels Summer Camp Scholarships

Palm Coast's upcoming Food Truck Tuesday event on July 16th promises to be more than just a culinary celebration. This community gathering will serve as a fundraiser, with proceeds going towards providing summer camp scholarships for local families in need. The event, set to take place at Central Park in Town Center from 5-8 p.m., will feature a diverse array of food trucks and a thrilling BMX stunt show, all in the name of supporting the city's youth.

Empowering Families, Enriching Lives

Fostering Connections and Opportunities

The Food Truck Tuesday event is more than just a delicious gathering; it's a platform to make a meaningful difference in the lives of local children. The funds raised will be directed towards the city's Summer Camp Scholarship Fund, which aims to assist families in need by covering the cost of attending Palm Coast's Fun in the Sun Summer Camp. This nine-week program, running from June 3 to August 9, provides a transformative experience for children from kindergarten to fifth grade, offering a safe and nurturing environment where they can learn, grow, and forge new friendships."Summer Camp is a very special experience in the lives of many children," said Ashley Lewis, Youth Recreation specialist at Palm Coast Parks and Recreation. "It's a place where kids can learn new things, make new friends, and having the ability to foster those connections through our scholarship fund, which is extremely rewarding to us."

Expanding Accessibility and Inclusion

The Summer Camp Scholarship Fund, which also receives federal support from the Department of Housing and Urban Development, has already made a significant impact. Last year, the fund was able to provide scholarships to 73 local children, ensuring they had the opportunity to participate in the enriching summer camp program. This year's Food Truck Tuesday event aims to build on that success, with the goal of raising enough funds to provide scholarships for an additional 5 families in 2025."It's heartwarming to see the community come together to support our local families and provide these invaluable experiences for their children," said Lewis. "Every child deserves the chance to explore, learn, and create lasting memories during the summer, and the scholarship fund helps make that a reality."

A Culinary Celebration with a Cause

The Food Truck Tuesday event promises to be a delightful blend of delicious cuisine and community spirit. Attendees can look forward to an impressive lineup of food trucks, including Wrap Daddy, The Happy Lemon Co., Cool Beans, The Knot, Wicked Good Mini Donuts, Kona Ice, Monsta Lobsta, Original Philly Cheesesteak, Kerala Express, FILO Greek, Chonky's Kitchen, Sheila's Funnel Cakes, The Wandering Hoagie, and Crazy Good Eats.In addition to the mouthwatering offerings, the event will also feature a special performance from a traveling BMX stunt show, adding an extra layer of excitement and entertainment for the whole family.

Investing in the Future, One Bite at a Time

The Food Truck Tuesday event is more than just a culinary celebration; it's an opportunity to make a lasting impact on the lives of local children. By supporting this initiative, attendees can directly contribute to the Summer Camp Scholarship Fund, ensuring that more families have access to the enriching experiences offered by Palm Coast's Fun in the Sun Summer Camp."This event is a testament to the generosity and community spirit of Palm Coast," said Lewis. "By coming together and enjoying delicious food, we're able to create a brighter future for our local youth, and that's something truly special."So, mark your calendars and join the Palm Coast community on July 16th for a Food Truck Tuesday that promises to nourish both the body and the soul. Together, we can savor the flavors of the moment while investing in the bright futures of our children.
